Are you interested in railways?Would you like to learn new skills?Do you have some spare time or need experience? The Plym Valley Railway needs you!New members are always welcome at the Plym Valley Railway. Membership entitles you to one free journey, two magazines a year and the insurance that allows you to volunteer on site.. Volunteers are always made most welcome and are very much needed as we are as a small railway with a lot to do and with plans to grow and achieve much more. There are many varied jobs from cutting the grass, helping to run the trains, assisting to build and maintain the line, maintaining and restoring the locomotives and rolling stock or helping to build infrastructure. Currently we are constructing Marsh Mills Platform 2 and also a Station Booking Office and there are many more projects are planned. You could even aspire to drive the steam or diesel locomotives, if you do not mind getting really dirty! There is always something to do. Experience is not necessary, everyone is welcome from 16 to 160! Many young people find volunteering helps them to achieve employment and we have a least one young member who has gained employment in this way, not specifically linked to trains but engineering. So, if you think you have something to offer, come and join us. Induction Sessions We are running regular Volunteer Induction sessions and welcome new recruits.
