SUPPORT THE PLYM VALLEY RAILWAY!!
The Plym Valley Railway (PVR) is a solely volunteer run railway in Plymouth. The railway’s only income is from running trains, something that has been impossible during the recent pandemic. From Brake Van Rides to Driver Experiences, the railway has had to cancel all of the 2020 Running Days that were planned almost eradicating all income. The lack of fares will soon have a dramatic effect on the amount of projects that can be undertaken and will halt the overall development of the railway. The PVR’s fleet of ageing railway locomotives and coaching stock also need regular maintenance and periodic overhauls. There are also long term restoration projects such as the Diesel Multiple Unit and the 0-6-0 ‘Byfield’ elements of which have had to be placed on hold due to lack of available funds. We are asking for £20,000 to be able to continue with projects and ensure that we are able to return safely with open arms when we deem it safe to do so. Please support Plymouth’s heritage railway so we can continue to preserve the past and run trains into the future.
